Hi, my name is Sara Sanchez, I’m 19 years of age, a proud British Colombian who was born and grew up here in the UK.
In May 2020 I was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
Thankfully I was lucky enough to finish my 2nd year of college and due to me having to undergo these treatments I unfortunately was not able to return to my studies and haven’t been able to since.
My first treatment consisted of 6 months of chemo then 2 years of remission. In July 2021 sadly, we got news that my leukaemia returned while I was on remission, because of this relapse, it was decided my next treatment was to be a bone marrow transplant.
